PVSchools is championing data privacy and wants to encourage families to join the cause. January 22 - 28 is Data Privacy Week. The district wants to remind families about the importance of protecting their data by making informed decisions when it comes to their online presence.
Technology is rooted in all aspects of a person’s life and society, and understanding the tradeoff between privacy and convenience is important. From paying bills to checking online grades to verifying one's identity, personal data is required but privacy is a right. It’s important to be cautious about what is shared. Understanding the rules and guidelines of data privacy creates room for personal choice in what is shared and how.
